Another loss for us 48 – 88. The weather was glorious sunshine and warm. While we worked hard to give a good account of ourselves it was unfortunately another loss for us. One rink was leading back and fore until the home players found the rhythm of their own green and ran away with the win, frequently knocking us off the jack. One of our rinks did win. This was led by Bruce Ford and with him were Brenda Goodfellow, Richard Brant and David Bradley. A good win for these four 19 – 12. The green was excellent and did run fast. We did not give up and fought to the end.

Despite the loss we all enjoyed playing here and the opposition were very friendly, extremely helpful to those of us in our first season and playing in new positions, there was great friendly banter between us and a very enjoyable evening. We had a warm welcome in their clubhouse after the match where we enjoyed pasties and drinks together. Thank you Penarth (Rectory) for hosting us so well.
