Albert Road Primary School come to Belle Vue
On Wednesday 3rd July we were pleased to welcome year 6 pupils from Albert Road Primary School.
We were introducing them to bowls and hopefully encourage them to take the sport up. We were also showing an alternative sport to play that is equally fun and rewarding as all traditional sports played in schools. It was great fun, certainly from those members of Belle Vue who were coaching the children, and it seems the children had a good time too. They were very enthusiastic and were enjoying the session.
They came in two separate groups to make it manageable to allow all children time to play. We did target bowls where they had to try to bowl the woods to a target on the floor to the highest number. Scores were kept and the two highest scorers were given a first and second trophy. There were some amazing shots played by some, where some scored 10’s. It was great to see them improve the more they bowled. They listened and followed instructions really well.
We certainly hope to have them back again and look forward to working with the school on a regular basis.
