This was the first round of the Alan Martin competition which is a knockout competition. This is a competition of just 2 rinks of 4 players unlike our other competitions where we have 4 rinks of 4 players.

Our 2 rinks were:
Rink 1 – Gerry Field, Maurice Cox, Jeff Wenger and Barrie Bagwell
Rink 1 – Alan Wallace, Andy Davies, Dave Bradley and Malcolm Thomas

We won 1 rink and lost 1 rink but won overall by 1 point. Score was 40 – 39. A very hard fought game from start to finish. It was a superb match to watch with some absolutely superb woods bowled. Enthralling game right to the very last wood being played. We were holding our breath on the last game waiting to see if we could get the overall win, which we did.

Looking forward to the next round on Sunday 20th July and have everything crossed that we can get another win. Well done to everyone played. Have never watched such a brilliant match. It was that good I forgot to even take photos.
